Engraving Guide

1. Select product type

Find out more details about different product types in the Product Description section. Whether you're buying as a gift or for yourself, it's important to choose the right product.

2. Select product size/length/etc.

Products can come in a variety of sizes, which can affect the size of the engraving area and the functionality of the product, especially for tools.

3. Select brand

Some products may have multiple brands to choose from. We only use the best product brands for engraving, but they still vary from budget to premium brands. Choose based on your personal preference: the engraving is going to look good on any of them.

4. Select engraving type

In our product design tool we offer 3 options: text, image or both. Feel free to play around and customise the product to your liking. If you have something else in mind that our tool can't do yet - use the custom order page.

5. Add text

Now's the time to put your best ideas into action - a memorable phrase, a heartfelt wish, a significant date, a company name, a quote, etc.

You can also change the font and size of the text. The position of the text is fixed in our design tool, but if you would like it engraved on a different part of the product - leave a comment in the last step before proceeding to the cart.

6. Upload image

If you're not sure what to upload, here are some examples of what we can engrave:

  • photo
  • logo
  • fingerprint
  • handwriting / drawing / sketch
  • emoji

... and basically any image.

For photos, we recommend that you only upload high contrast black and white photos. This will give you a good idea of how it will look when engraved. Not all photos are suitable for engraving due to the nature of the technology - engraving is not the same as ink printing.

Some products may have a very small space to place an image. If that's the case, we recommend you stick to text only or choose a small image that isn't very detailed.

Make sure you upload a high quality image. For fingerprints and handwriting, it's better to scan it first to avoid distortion.

The position of the image is fixed in our design tool, but if you would like it engraved on a different part of the product - leave a comment in the last step before proceeding to the cart.

7. Select engraving finish

Finishing is a molecular change to the metal applied after the main engraving process. It enhances the appearance, texture and corrects imperfections.

This technique improves the aesthetics and durability of the engraving and prevents tarnishing and rusting, which affect the final look and feel.

Choose from a range of different finishes, which are achieved using specific engraving parameters and do not contain ink, paint or other materials.

  • Black - Requires a deeper engraving, but has a striking appearance.
  • Annealed - Silver/blue tint, looks more sophisticated.
  • White - Makes the engraving look special and delicate.

8. Select packaging type

  • Standard - the product is delivered in a standard box from the product manufacturer.
  • Gift Packaging - a stylish and durable box with cut foam inside, specially designed for your order.
